Someone on one of the yahoogroups lists I'm on suggested that I mat the pics.
So is another view of the same layout, but with the pics matted.
Please let me know what you think.
I appreciate all tips.
This particular layout, I haven't figured out words to put on it

Hi Nancy,
You've made a great start to your scrapbooking pages. Now you need to add some journalling. A title is nice but adding the who, what, where, when and why are just as important. Tell the story on your pages the same way you are doing on your blog. Copy and paste is one way of completing this.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi Nancy!
I would mat the top picture on a peice of the green of the bottom to make it pop. The picture gets lost in the pattern right now. I would also see if there is a way to soften the transition between the two. Right now they are very stark. I either use a totally solid background or a print. That is what I find easier for me to work with (personally easier). Check out http://www.pagemaps.com/ for free ideas for page layouts!
Definitely use a mat. I personally prefer almost all pics have mats behind them, although in some cases they are just not needed.
But I like yours with the mat, and the idea to use the green background for the mat on the top picture is a great idea. Thats how I try to do mine as well.
