Last of the family pics for now

I think this is the last of these layouts for a while.

Being Silly

Another layout of college kids goofing off.

Cutie Pie

I just love the pics of my girls when they are younger.
This is my youngest (who is now 19) .... how sweet she is.

Love to Laugh

Not sure if you can see the letters too well. They say, I love to laugh.
Pic of daughter, not sure how old she is.
A reason to write such stuff on the back.

First friends

First friends... another page from that baby book that fell apart.

Precious girl

Isn't she beautiful! More of the proofs from the session when she was almost 3.

Toys and fun

Pic of my oldest daughter and some of her toys. The rocking chair was given her by her Aunt T. A bear made by my Aunt M is also in there.

fun with phones

First time I stencilled on a layout --at least I think. After doing all that I realized there is only one pic with a phone, but oh well.

Doggie

The dog was made by the nurses at the hospital where my oldest daughter was born.
I thought it was so cute.

Cute Little Angel

Picture of my middle daughter. She's just darling.

Meeting again

Same pic, slightly different layout. For 2nd daughter's scrapbook.

2 or 3 years

This is a page from a baby book. It fell apart, so I'm putting parts of it in my daughter's scrapbook.
This is the page about things they do at 2 or 3 years of age

Same pics, different layout

You've seen these pics before, this one is for my 3rd daughter's album.

My old elementary school

This one is of my 4th grade class. Since you can see the year in the layout, I guess you know I'm not as young as I used to be.

Baby pics

This is one of my all-time favorite pics of my youngest daughter. I'm not sure how old she is, I'm thinking about 6 months old.

cats and cousins

Here is a layout of my youngest daughter and cats, and one of her and her cousin.
The cat was made on my cricut.

Angel girl

I have to admit that I really like this layout. Remember I'm a newbie. So far, I have found that I like simple layouts.
This is my oldest daughter, more proofs from her photo session. I am not sure how old she is, but I think she's somewhere around 2.

Christmas- embellished

I have this same layout on the page below. In that picture, it isn't embellished. I did a little embellishing on it.

3 Daughters

Here is one with my 3 daughters. You will see several different layouts with this picture. I used snapfish and obtained smaller copies of this (and other) pic. That way, all 3 girls can have the picture in their album.
I'm making each an album. Someday, I'll get copies of my favorite pictures and make myself an album.

A few thoughts on journaling

I do mean a few thoughts. I have had a few suggestions that I do not have enough journaling in my layouts. I had done some thinking and realized that I dont have a lot of extra room on my pages. Even when I do, I don't seem to want to take that space up with journalings.
So I've decided to do hidden journaling.
When I feel it adds to the page, I'll put some on it, but I think usually it will be hidden.

Tada!

The laugh and the heart are cricut die cuts. It seemed to stand out a bit better in person.

And the scrapbooking continues

This one I had finished before today. I thought about changing it a little, but finally decided to leave it the way it is.

Yet Another layout

Another of my oldest daughter. Unfortunately, I don't know how old she was when the pic was taken. The letters on this one (and some of the others) was done with cricut. Precious, adorable and cute are precut tiles on chipboard I bought at walmart in a cube.

Another layout

Here is another one: My oldest daughter at 6 months.

Layouts accomplished... thanks Cricut

I finished a lot of layouts today. Sorry the pics aren't the best.
The first one is of my oldest daughter when she was 3 months old.
This second one is of my roommate Val. She was one of the best roommates I had. She was great! I never saw her again after we roomed together that semester, and I still miss her.
I guess I will put these in separate blog entries. I haven't gotten the knack of picture placement apparently.

Matting Rules!

So far the consensus I'm getting is that matting is better. Although there are always exceptions, of course. So today I'm posting a pic of a layout that I matted the pics. If you scroll down far enough on the blog you will see the same layout without matting.
Let me know which you like best.
I want to thank everyone for their comments.

I also wanted to let everyone know that while I do often use wallpaper samples for backgrounds, I always make sure there is some kind of paper between the wallpaper and the photo. Actually, I'm finding that this matting is just the thing. It works well to enhance the pic and to form a barrier of sorts.

Matting pics

Someone on one of the yahoogroups lists I'm on suggested that I mat the pics.

So is another view of the same layout, but with the pics matted.

Please let me know what you think.

I appreciate all tips.
This particular layout, I haven't figured out words to put on it

Christmas - unembellished

I wanted to add one where

I hadn't done anything other than get the pics on it.

If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment.

Another Christmas one

Here is another of my daughter's first Christmas pages. She had a lot of Christmas' that year. This is pics of what I will term the "Childs" family Christmas. As it was with my mother's extended family.

The pic isn't so good.

It says peek a boo.

The top pic is of my middle daughter peeking up over the back of a couch.

The bottom one she's sitting in a drawer... after it appears she emptied it... LOL!

Getting started

Yesterday I did a few layouts. And I did a few other pages where I just got the pics on the page. I'm thinking more and more of just worrying about getting them on the page and going back to embellish them later.

This one is of my oldest daughter's first Christmas.

I do plan to do some hidden journaling for it.

my first hubby and myself

This is the layout I did for a picture of my first husband and myself. Since the pic isn't so good, you can't see that the paper on the corners is silver. It's pretty simple, but I am just starting out.
This pic was taken in either 1983 or 1984.

update

I have done some more scanning of photos lately. A lot of the photos I had scanned got lost when my old computer died. I have done a couple layouts, and will post them eventually. I just had to post this pic though. This is a pic of me when I was about 2 I think.
I just love this pic.

How I got Started

My older sister is who got me started with scrapbooking. She took me to a Sherman Williams store that was going out of business. They gave away their old wallpaper books. I picked up a few for her. Once we got back into her vehicle, I started looking at them. I quickly realized that these were really pretty. For the next couple years, I started collectiing wallpaper books.
I called everyplace in the phone book that sold wallpaper. (I live in a different state than my sisters) Every now and then I would be able to pick up a few. Then I hit the jackpot when one place had a carload of them they wanted me to pick up.
Now I have bunches of papers to use for scrapbooking. I used an exacto knife and carefully cut the papers out of the books. I discarded the book part. My next thing I'm doing is cutting the papers int 8 1/2 x 11 or 12 x 12 inch sizes. This may take me the rest of my life. Therefore, I've started scrapping a few pages already. I've started with my oldest daughter's pages.
Lately, I've also been scanning all my pictures. I hope to eventually get them all scanned, so that I can write them to a cd. That way everyone can have a cd. The main problem with that is that most were scanned in the .bmp mode and the cd writer doesn't accept .bmp. Once I get them all scanned and converted I'll be in business, so to speak.
